Classes
Class Organisation
At Chapelfield Primary School, we group children into mixed-age classes, with each class including pupils from no more than 2 adjacent year groups. This approach allows us to create balanced classes that meet the needs of all our children, both academically and socially.
Each year, our teachers and senior leaders carefully review the class groupings. We consider each child’s age, learning progress, and social and emotional needs. Our aim is to place every child in the class that will best support their development and help them reach their full potential.
We believe that mixed-age classes offer many benefits, including opportunities for older children to act as role models and for all pupils to work at the level that’s right for them.
If you have any questions about how your child’s class is organised, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
