Mummifying apples!

In keeping with our topic ‘What was life like in Ancient Egypt?’, we discussed the Ancient Egyptian methods of preserving bodies through mummification. We decided to conduct a Scientific experiment investigating what would preserve an apple best: table salt, Epsom salt, bicarbonate of soda or a combination of all three. We had a lot of fun cutting the apples and covering them in our ingredients! We also filled out experiment books hypothesising which we think would work best at preventing the apple from rotting. Stay tuned to find out if we were correct!
